Hey everyone! I’m Erynn. I thought I would start off this section by sharing a few fun facts with you. I have a dog named Vincent Van Gogh, he goes by Vinny for short. He is a 5 year old shihtzu chihuahua mix. My favorite color is teal. I love chocolate. My favorite season is fall. I am always thinking about when I can travel next. I have a sister and a brother and they are both married. I have 1 niece and 3 nephews all under the age of 3. My parents have been married for 43 years. I have the best friends a girl could ask for. If I’m not wearing my contacts or glasses, forget it! I love queso maybe more than chocolate… which is saying a lot! Okay I guess it’s time to get into why I am writing this blog in the first place haha :-)!
I graduated from the University of North Florida in 2010 with my BFA in photography and a minor in printmaking. Since graduation, I have had a few jobs not photography related. I learned a lot nannying for three amazing girls and being the head of the reception department at a very busy and successful hair salon. Neither of those jobs were leading me in the direction I felt I wanted to go. In 2014, I decided it was time to take the leap of faith and focus solely my photography business, {eedy photography}. It has been a wild ride to say the least! Everything is trial and error. I have grown more in this last year than I thought I would. There is so much information to learn about starting your own business. Those of you who have done it know what I’m talking about!
Focusing on photography lead me to the discovery of the art of crochet. I have been getting more and more requests for newborn photography. Instead of ordering little newborn outfits, I decided to learn how to make them myself. One of my best friends has been crocheting for about a year. She came over one evening and showed me the basic stitches to get me started. After that, I became completely obsessed with learning this new craft. I watched more video tutorials than I can even remember. I basically didn’t stop practicing for an entire week, to the point that I had to take a break because my hands hurt so badly haha! I am still learning new things and improving my skills with every item I make. I had such a positive response from the items I started making that I decided to open an etsy shop. After a lot of research, I opened my etsy shop in July 2015. I named my crochet business Edith and Nancy after my 2 amazing grandmothers. They are unfortunately no longer with us, but I know they would be very excited about this new venture.
This blog is going to be a combination of photography, crochet, love, family, fashion, food, friends and whatever else comes my way! I can’t wait to share my adventures with all of you. I always encourage questions, comments or suggestions on what you want to see more of! Don’t forget to subscribe to this blog, so you can make sure you never miss a thing!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
Xo, Erynn
